Girl riding horse injured in hit-and-run in Shottenden Road, Badlesmere

A girl riding a horse has been injured in a suspected hit-and-run.

Emergency services were called to the collision in Shottenden Road, Badlesmere at about 11.45am.

The crash involved a girl riding a horse and a pick-up style truck.

The child was injured in the incident.

A police spokesperson said: "It is reported that the driver of the pick-up truck did not stop at the scene.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident."

An ambulance service spokesman confirmed they were called to a report of a girl being knocked off a horse.

"One ambulance crew attended the scene and the young girl did not require hospital treatment," they said.

The girl sustained a hand injury in the incident and it is understood she was mobile when paramedics attended.
