POLICE officers were called to a service station on the Thanet Way at Faversham following a report of an alleged bomb threat.
It transpired the threat was a hoax and traced it to a 16-year-old Sittingbourne boy. He was arrested and cautioned for the offence.
Sgt Andy Bell said: “Making hoax telephone calls wastes the valuable time of the emergency services and could endanger lives. It is irresponsible and we will not hesitate in making arrests when ever possible.
“I hope this arrest sends a message to would-be pranksters that we will not tolerate this behaviour in Swale.”
