The grieving children of a dad-of-four have issued an appeal for sports cars to join his funeral procession.
Motorhead Chris Sullivan, from Faversham, sadly died last month aged just 47.
Family friend Kelly Collier, from Rainham, says his children are now hoping to make their dad’s final journey one he would have loved.
She said: “We lost a very, very dear friend recently.
“Our hearts are incredibly heavy, and I'm not sure we've really got our heads around it yet, let alone that he left behind four gorgeous children.
“They are trying to arrange sports cars for his send-off, rather than the traditional funeral cars.
“He would have absolutely loved this.”
Over the years, Kelly said Chris owned a number of sports cars, including a Subaru and a ZX300.
In a statement to KentOnline, his family said: “Our children would like to pay tribute to him and his love of sports cars by reaching out to sports car enthusiasts, in the hope that they can be included in his funeral procession.”
Karen Bennett runs Medway-based Oval Motors Group and is delighted to be able to send along three of her cars to join the procession.
She said: “I think it’s such a kind thought for Chris that we can all come together and celebrate his life the way he would have loved.
“I hope we make the kids happy, sending their dad on his last journey.”
Any cars interested in joining need to meet at 12.15pm on Tuesday, August 22 at Sittingbourne Garden of England crematorium to follow Chris on his final journey to Chapel Road cemetery.
