Drivers were warned to steer clear of the Thanet Way after one lane of the coast-bound carriageway was blocked due to an accident in Goodnestone.

The two-car crash happened on the Thanet Way between J7 for Brenley Corner and Graveney Road.

One person was injured and witnesses reported a van alight and heavy tailbacks.

Police eported queues for several miles back along the M2, but said traffic on the other side of the Thanet Way was not affected.
