Drivers have been warned to expect delays after a three-car crash on a busy motorway.

The incident happened on the London-bound carraigeway between junction 6 (Faversham) and junction 5 (Sittingbourne) on the M2 around 5.20pm today.

One lane is currently closed and emergency crews are at the scene.

Motorists have been asked to approach with caution.

A police spokesman said: "We received a report of a collision involving three vehicles on the Londonbound carriageway. Officers are currently at the scene."

It is understood the vehicles are being moved to the hard shoulder to clear the road.

Queues are reportedly stretching back to Junction 7.
