The hunt is on for thieves who stole organ pipes worth around £10,000 from a Kent church.
The offenders broke into the Leaveland Church near Faversham and escaped with 47 of the lead pipes, all between 4ft and 6ft in length.
Sgt Dave Smith said: "This is a despicable crime. These pipes are only worth in the region of £50 in scrap metal, but to replace them will cost thousands.
"Until that money can be found, it will leave the church devoid of music."

Sgt Smith added: "We will be making inquiries with scrap metal dealers in the area to see if they have been offered or sold the pipes."
Police are also investigating the possible involvement of a blue Transit flatbed lorry which was seen in the area on June 30.
The theft took place between June 22 and July 6.
