Developers are targeting another slice of land on an estate where residents fought in vain to protect one of their last remaining green spaces.
People living in Wells Way set up a petition and lodged dozens of objections to a planning application proposing to build on a picturesque spot on the Bysing Wood Estate.
But back in May, the town and borough council and dozens of residents were outraged after an appeal for the building was approved.
The attractive slice of land with a few trees and flowers has since been bulldozed by Lancashire developers and the property is well on its way to being completed.
Initial fears this could lead to the demise of yet more green spaces dotted around the estate have been reignited with a new application this week.
Applicant Discovery Investments and Odd Jobs Co Ltd hope to build a one-bedroom bungalow on another green space in the estate.
The land’s neighbour Peter Davies said: “We knew that the land had been sold, but we only found out this week that another planning application has been submitted.
“It is right opposite the other site which caused so much upset and is now being built on.
“We will all be objecting again but who knows what will happen after the result of last time.
“We were so angry the council unanimously turned the first application down but was still approved by the inspector. We felt so out of control despite all on the estate objecting to it.
“It is a couple hundred yards from our house so it will greatly affect us.
“It is not fair as there are a lot of vulnerable, elderly people here and a lot of them do not know how to object. It does not give them a chance.
“Everyone moved here because of the lovely layout with the green open spaces, and that is now being concreted over.“

Letters of support or objection must be submitted by Wednesday, December 2.
The town council will offer their recommendation during the monthly meeting on Monday and Swale Borough Council will make a final decision over the next few months.
