A charity which works with young disabled adults has been targeted by "mindless" thieves.
Brogdale Community Interest Company (CIC), based in Faversham and supported by Children in Need, lost thousands of pounds worth of equipment in the raid.
The organisation works with young people and adults with learning difficulties, providing gardening opportunities and lessons for those with a disability.
Workers arrived at Brogdale Farm on Thursday, November 12, to find thieves had broken into the equipment store and stolen four lawnmowers, two strimmers, a leaf-blower and a hedge trimmer.
"As a consequence of this mindless action we will need to rethink our community working which is devastating for both our team and the wider community" - Rebecca O'Neil
Brogdale CIC is run every day and members spend a lot of their time in the community helping to cut grass, tend gardens and take part in landscaping tasks, providing them with invaluable skills.
But without the tools swiped in the break-in, all activities for the forseeable future have been scaled down.
It is expected to cost thousands of pounds to replace the equipment.
Director of Brogdale CIC Rebecca O'Neil said: “The site is unoccupied overnight and it is just horrible that people would do this.
"As a consequence of this mindless action we will need to rethink our community working which is devastating for both our team and the wider community.
"Many of the social clients we visit regularly are very grateful as they are unable to afford a commercial gardening service.”
The items were stolen from the farm in Brogdale Road between Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11.
The charity are now looking to the local community for help to replace the items.
Rebecca added: "This equipment was not walked off with, the thieves would have needed a large van or truck.
"The items were securely locked away and in a very secluded part of Brogdale Farm.
"We have asked the owners for any CCTV footage and the local police have been very helpful.”
