An electric BMW crashed into the front of a Tesco store, crushing a small trolley and damaging a wooden bench.
Stunned shoppers looked on as the driver of the white i3 model lost control in Faversham this afternoon.
No one was injured in the incident, which happened at about 2pm, but the battery-powered hatchback suffered heavy front-end damage.
Shopper Theresa Harris was in the Crescent Road store when the incident occurred.
"When I came out of the shop the car was being moved back," she said.
"The people all got out safely and no one was hurt; they were a little shaken and the staff at Tesco were with them.
"It went past a post, into the trolley, and then into the bench by a window near the Church Road steps."
