Tens of thousands of people are estimated to have poured into Faversham for this year's Hop Festival.

It began yesterday and continues today with more than 60 bands and performers providing 70 hours of live music across five stages.

There is also entertainment and dance via 15 groups performing Morris and other styles.

There are stages in the Market Place, Preston Street, Court Street and a folk stage in Week Street.

Attractions also include a traditional funfair and street market with stalls providing Kentish food and drink.

These include beer produced n the town, local cider and Kentish apple juice.

The weekend is to celebrate everything about how hops are picked and to sample the final product as beer.

Visitor Andrew Large tweeted yesterday:"Visiting #Faversham #hopFest today. Very busy and loads of #caskAle."

David Wood tweeted: "Usually have some very good bands.

"Could even be tempted to try a beer or a small sherry."

Road closures continue until 7pm today and and organisers are recommending using the park-and-ride at the Abbey School in London Road.

The marshalled car park will cost £5 a day per car.
