Huge emergency response after houseboat at Standard Quay in Faversham takes on water

There was a huge emergency response at a marina after a houseboat flooded.

The coastguard, fire service and paramedics were called to the Standard Quay in Faversham this afternoon after the property took on water.

Emergency vehicles were spotted in the Abbey Road area as they responded to the incident.

A coastguard spokesperson said: “We have been assisting the fire service with a houseboat that was taking on water in Faversham.

“Alerted at about 3.15pm, Herne Bay and Sheppey Coastguard Rescue Teams were tasked.

“All persons on board were recovered to a place of safety.

“The ambulance service was also in attendance.”
