Motorcyclist dies following M2 smash

A motorcyclist has died following an accident on the M2 on Saturday.

The rider was involved in a collision with the central barrier and was flown to a London hospital with critical injuries by air ambulance.

The accident happened at about 3.30pm on the coastbound carriageway near Faversham.

The carriageway was closed for more than three hours between junction five and six (Sittingbourne and Faversham).

Kent Police serious collision investigation unit is investigating.

The motorcyclist, from Brentwood in Essex, was riding a Suzuki Bandit.
