A person has been hit by a train on the line between Faversham and Herne Bay.
Emergency services raced to the level crossing on Monkshill Road in Graveney, with train services being significantly delayed or altered.
A tweet from a passenger on the train suggests the person to have been hit may be cyclist.
Passengers onboard the train were transferred onto a replacement bus service after the train arrived in Whitstable.
A bus service was put in place for customers using the line between Faversham and Ramsgate, but rail services have since restarted.
Southeastern rail said trains were back on the move.
The company said: "Our thoughts go out to the people affected by the incident this afternoon."
With the rail service resuming, the condition of the person hit the train is unknown.
Passengers were advised to travel on highspeed services via Ashford to London at no extra cost as a result of the incident.
