Supermodel Jodie Kidd was among a group of 100 cyclists who enjoyed lunch in Faversham on Saturday.
A dozen former British and Irish Rugby Lions and the blonde beauty stopped off at Shepherd Neame while completing the Ride of the Lions Waterloo 200, a 200-mile charity cycle ride to mark the anniversary of the historic battle.
The ride was aimed at reenacting the momentous journey taken by Major Henry Percy in 1815 as he raced on horseback to London.
Lions taking part included England’s Peter Winterbottom, Mike Teague, Dean Richards, Steve Bainbridge, Roger Uttley and Ben Clarke; Scotland’s Roger Baird, Rodger Arneil and Derek White; Daffyd James from Wales; and Rob Henderson from Ireland.
Peter Winterbottom said: “Once again our former Lions have come together with Walking With The Wounded and gallant members of the public to challenge themselves for a worthy cause. We would like to thank Shepherd Neame for their superb hospitality and generosity – the thought of a beer kept many a cyclist going to the end!”
Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame said: “We were delighted to welcome the group to the brewery during their epic fundraising cycle ride. It is a remarkable accomplishment for a very worthwhile cause.”
