A teenager has been taken to London hospital after he was reportedly driven at, chased by a group of men and then stabbed.
Police descended on the Bensted Grove car park in Faversham last night following the serious assault, which happened between 5pm and 5.20pm.
The force says a silver BMW is reported to have been driven at a teenager standing on the pavement in Lower Road.
It is alleged some men got out of the vehicle and chased the victim into St Paul’s Avenue, where he was stabbed.
The 19-year-old was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
It is believed the victim and the suspects were known to each other.
Earlier today, a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody.
Det Insp Pete Smith said: "An investigation is underway into the circumstances, including house-to-house enquiries in the area.
"We are urging witnesses or anybody with information to call our appeal line.
"Motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV are also asked to check for relevant footage."
As the drama unfolded, one resident in Lower Road told KentOnline how "all the sirens have been on and it's very loud... it sounds serious".
"They’ve taped off the steps leading down to St Paul’s Avenue and a forensics van has pulled up," they added.
"There are more police vehicles around the corner that can’t be seen from where we are."
Other residents reported driving past the police cars on the nearby A2 and seeing lots of flashing lights.
