A man has been injured after a motorbike crash closed part of the A2, causing major delays.
Emergency services attended the scene of the accident near Faversham, with "no alternative routes" available for traffic.
Police and paramedics were seen attending to the collision, which also involves a van.
One motorist said traffic was at a "standstill" in both directions immediately after the crash near the Luddenham Junction.
Shortly afterwards, police confirmed that the road had been closed in both directions.
A police statement on twitter read: "Officers are currently dealing with an RTC involving a motorbike on the A2, Faversham.
"The road is closed with no alternative routes at this time due to build up of traffic.
"We apologise for the delays."
A police spokeswoman said: "Kent Police was called at 8.01am this morning to a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a van on the A2 near Faversham.
"Officers were in attendance along with other emergency services. One person has been taken to a local hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
"Traffic remains heavy in the area due to the incident and motorists should use an alternative route if possible."
