Traffic is queuing along the A2 westbound as road works are carried out at Brenley Corner.
The Faversham roundabout is partially closed this weekend, as Highways England carries out resurfacing.
It coincides with the town's busiest weekend of the year - when it is packed with visitors celebrating the annual Faversham Hop Festival.
Highways England enforced the part-closure from 8pm on Friday, and it is set to last until 6am tomorrow (Monday).
Traffic is currently queuing on the A2 westbound, from Dunkirk to M2 junction 7, at Brenley Corner.
Motorists leaving Faversham are facing diversions.
Those wanting to head towards Canterbury and Dover on the A2 eastbound are not able to access the dual carriageway at Brenley Corner.
Instead, they need to join the A299 Thanet Way heading coastbound.
Taking the exit before the service stations at Dargate, they must then turn back around on Plumpudding Lane and rejoin the Thanet Way heading back towards Brenley Corner.
They will then be able to join the A2 and carry on as usual.
The partial closure will lift on Monday, but overnight closures will be enforced from Monday to Friday this week, for further resurfacing work.
