Trains delayed in Faversham after report of knifeman at railway station

Trains were delayed after police were called to a report of a knifeman at a railway station.

Officers were seen at Faversham station last night following a call at 9.11pm.

Rail operator Southeastern warned passengers that services had been disrupted through the area.

Trains were running normally by 10.30pm after officers had dealt with the incident.

A transport police spokesperson confirmed they were called following a report of a man carrying a knife.

"Officers attended, the man was stopped and searched, and he was not found to be in possession of a knife," they said.
