A man and woman have been charged after a video showed a shop worker being pushed against a freezer.

Jessica Winters, 35, of no fixed address, is charged with the same two thefts.

She is also separately charged with another five shopliftings in Tunbridge Wells since the beginning of the year.

Pinal Amin, owner of the store in Preston Street, captured footage of his wife being shoved into the ice cream freezer at the store.

He told KentOnline she was left “petrified” and too scared to come to work alone.

The 32-year-old also said his shop is targeted by shoplifters almost every day.

Two days after alcoholic energy drinks were taken from his store, items worth about £165 were reported stolen from a BP service station in St John’s Road, Tunbridge Wells, where verbal abuse and threats were said to have been made towards staff.

The suspects were detained later that day when it is further alleged the man spat and kicked at police.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 13.
