Two people were treated by paramedics after a blaze spread through a flat.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus were called to Love Lane in Faversham this morning to tackle the flames.
They used hose reel jets to extinguish it before ventilating the home.
A fire service spokesman said: “Two people were treated at the scene by paramedics after suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
“Our volunteer response team also attended and provided support to affected residents.”
It is believed the fire started accidentally, due to a faulty lithium-ion battery.
