The Faversham Darts League have been doing their bit to help NHS workers over the lockdown period - and now they’ve been feeding them too.

Players taking part in the virtual darts league - an open event for allcomers across Kent and beyond - have already helped provide handcream for staff, food hampers and fleeces.

The league organised for 30 staff members who work on the coronavirus swabbing team at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital to have lunch on Wednesday after paying the streez2street chip van to make a visit.

And the generosity of the league isn’t stopping there.

Next week they are planning on sending out ice creams for all the staff at the Faversham Cottage Hospital.

They’ve also asked if any other NHS staff or establishments need anything then to get in touch with the league, through their facebook account or to email favershamdarts@hotmail.com.

The Faversham Darts League have successfully been running virtual tournaments, with players toeing the oche from front rooms, garden sheds and garages. A league is also up and running online. Just last week they had 2009 UK Open runner-up Colin Osborne joining them.

Prior to the chip shop visit the swabbing team at Kent & Canterbury received 25 fleeces courtesy of the league.

PDC pro and recent Remote Darts League winner James Richardson has also been involved in an open event, one which helped raised over £500.

He faced Kent players Peter Allen and Ryan Hope.
