The young rider also earned two more signatures towards his National licence after his average speed was 96% and 97% of the winner’s.

Smart-Weeden, from Faversham, was in action at Silverstone and he finished 14th of 34 in Saturday’s race and despite going faster the following day he had to settle for 16th, outside the points.

He achieved his Clubman license after previously winning at Cadwell Park in the NG Club Junior SuperSport championship, moving him up from the Novice license class.

Finn has improved his qualifying and race positions every round and is now hoping to stay mid pack or better for the last two rounds, starting at Oulton Park later this month.
