Finn Smart-Weeden clinched a class win at Cadwell Park during the NG Road Racing opening round.

Taking a break from his assault on the British Superbike Junior Super Sport championship, the 13-year-old from Faversham made the most of additional track time.

Included in the weekend was a Friday test day, with multiple sessions, before a wet and windy opening race on the Saturday. The Kawasaki EX400 rider took the JSS class win and clocked the fastest lap.

The conditions at the Lincolnshire circuit were similar to what he had previously experienced at Snetterton in the BSB event which gave the rider extra confidence.

On Sunday there were two more races but the challenge was tougher as veteran BSB Junior SuperSport rider Cameron Hall arrived to take part, winning both races. The Kent biker settled for third in both, leaving him heading the championship after the first round for the Santander Salt Tag Racing team.

This weekend Finn returns to BSB Racing for Santander Salt Tag Racing at Silverstone.
