Faversham maintained their promotion push in Ryman League Division 1 South with a 2-1 win at Carshalton.

Two goals from Dean Grant in the opening 22 minutes gave them comfortable lead at half-time, and the score remained that way until four minutes from time when Jamal Alexander pulled a goal back to set up a tense finale.

However, Faversham hung on to seal the win, moving level on points with Whyteleafe in second, seven behind leaders Burgess Hill Town.

Folkestone moved up into the play-off places with a 3-0 success at Horsham.

Paul Booth and Ian Draycott gave them a 2-0 lead at the break, and Frankie Chappell completed the scoring on 65 minutes.

Fourth-placed Sittingbourne fell to a home defeat in their first match since manager Matt Wyatt left the club.

With Barry Crimmen in caretaker charge Sittingbourne slipped to a 2-0 defeat against South Park, who moved up to seventh.

Herne Bay's play-off push faltered as they let a 2-0 lead slip as they also went down to a home defeat against Chipstead.

Danny Williams gave them the lead after nine minutes, and Joe Nelder doubled the advantage eight minutes later.

However, Chipstead pulled one back through Derek Tieku before the break, Ben Dyett equalised just after the hour mark and Will Turl completed the turnaround on 82 minutes.

Whitstable's play-off bid also suffered a setback as they lost 3-1 at Worthing, with all four goals coming in the last 31 minutes.

Former Gillingham starlet Ashley Miller was back on the scoresheet for Hythe as they moved out of the relegation zone with a 3-0 win against Three Bridges.

Town left it late though. Phil Stevenson got them on their way with a penalty after 73 minutes before Miller doubled the lead three minutes later.

Miller then added his second in the 94th minute as Hythe picked up their third win of the season.

Ramsgate also picked up all three points with a 1-0 win at bottom club Walton Casuals.

In the Ryman Premier Division, VCD Athletic were beaten 2-1 at Hampton & Richmond.

Two goals from Charlie Moone have the home side the advantage in the first half, and despite Leigh Bremner pulling one back two minutes into the second period, they couldn't find an equaliser.

Maidstone United were in FA Cup action and they progressed to the fourth qualifying round with a 2-0 win at Biggleswade Town.

In Ryman League Division 1 North, Cray Wanderers earned a point after fighting back from goal down to draw with Soham Town Rangers.

Tyrus Gordon-Young netted for Cray in the 68th minute, replying to David Prada's first-half opener.

Chatham Town also picked up a point after they were held to a goalless draw at Cheshunt.

They could have done with former striker Ade Yussuf, who netted his first two goals for Dagenham & Redbridge in their 2-1 win at Accrington Stanley in League 2.

With Dagenham trailing at half-time, Yussuf came off the bench to inspire a second-half comeback.
