Faversham have major injury concerns ahead of a testing double-header in Bostik South.
Ray Turner’s side, who have picked up just six points from their first six games, host Corinthian Casuals on Saturday before visiting Hythe on Tuesday.
Town boss Turner expects both teams to challenge for promotion this season and his task is made even harder by a long list of players in the treatment room.
Sam Bewick (knee) and Renford Tenyue (broken hand) are definitely out while Macauley Murray (thigh) is a doubt.
Simon Overland, Matt Bourne, Danny Walder and Mark Lovell are all carrying niggles although Jamie Maxted is set to play for the first time this season.
Turner said: “I’m not one to look for problems but the fundamental issues at this level are you need your best players out there and we need to do that this weekend.
"I’m hoping a few days’ rest and recuperation will bring some of them back.
“This weekend is going to show us where we are against two of the top sides in the league, so we’re going to need to be good.
“But equally, I know that a couple of results at this time of year can swing a season round quite quickly.
“We’ve done it many times before, so as much as we’ve got work to do, I’m not unduly concerned because a couple of results will give us lift-off.”
Faversham’s FA Cup interest ended with a 4-0 defeat at Wealdstone on Saturday.
Turner admitted the National League South side, who recently appointed Bobby Wilkinson as the successor to long-serving manager Gordon Bartlett, were simply too good on the day.
He said: “I had no complaints with the result. The boys kept going but as soon as they got in front, I couldn’t really see another result.”
