Faversham Town will not be taking their match at Shoreham for granted on Saturday as they look to extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Boss Ray Turner will urge his players to take caution against the side rock bottom of Bostik South with only three points.

Faversham’s 2-2 home draw with Greenwich Borough on Saturday took them to five games without defeat, which leaves them 16th.

Turner said: “They have changed their manager to someone who has a lot of experience and people just tend to look at the table and think games like this will be easy.

“It gives us a chance to extend our unbeaten run but we have to be careful.

“Players do tend to just look at the table. It is my job to use it as a chance to take us to six games unbeaten. We want to build on the good work we put in against Greenwich.”

Turner was pleased with the result as Greenwich have been near the top of the table and in contention for promotion.

He added: “Overall it is another good point. It’s another game unbeaten. They were a decent outfit and I’m pleased we are starting to look like a threat going forward. There are plenty of positives to take from the game.

“I was frustrated previously with the late goals we conceded and the lack of discipline we had but not so much this week. It was completely different circumstances. There was still time left to get a winner. The most pleasing thing is that we went back at them and tried to get another goal.”

Faversham were able to add a new name to their team sheet after Ashley Miller was signed from Hythe Town.

Turner is hoping to get the best out of his new signing who has experience playing for Gillingham and non-league clubs around Kent.

He said: “He’s an interesting player. I have seen him go from professional footballer to playing for our local rivals.

“It is down to us to see if we can get the best out of him at Faversham. Other clubs haven’t quite seen him play at his full potential. He wants to play football and if we can get him playing regularly, we will hopefully reap the benefit.”
