A village cricket club have named their 2022 award winners at the end of their centenary year.
Sheldwich CC, based near Faversham, saw their Saturday side finish second in Kent Regional League Division 4 East while the Sunday outfit were bottom of Kent Village League Division 1.
Scott Brown won Saturday player-of-the-year and club player-of-the-year as he scored more than 400 runs, including an unbeaten 112 in a record-breaking fifth-wicket partnership with Alex Roe in a victory at Westgate-on-Sea. He also took 13 wickets.
Fellow all-rounder Roe surpassed Brown, though, to win batsman-of-the-year with more than 450 runs.
The young player-of-the-year gong went to bowler Thomas Elworthy, who took 10 wickets and scored 39 runs, while Sunday player-of-the-year was awarded to all-rounder James Creed.
Fielder-of-the-year - for four catches and a run-out - went to Luca Beal, as Phil Stanford’s 23 wickets, which included figures of 5-31 in one match, was enough to get him the bowler-of-the-year award.
Megan Wheatley won club person-of-the-year for her photography during the summer and helping to enhance Sheldwich’s social media presence.
