James Collins is in no rush to bolster his backroom staff at Faversham Town.
Steve O’Boyle has left his role as assistant manager, with Carl Rook also having departed recently from his coaching role with the Lilywhites.
“Steve has left,” Collins confirmed. “He has stuff going on outside of football which he needs to focus on so he is not with us any more.”
Collins, though, will not be rushed into finding replacements.
He said he has spoken to popular ex-striker Rook about a potential return, adding: “I think I’m quite happy with where we are at.
“We have Scott Davenport, Laurence Collins and Grant Turner. So I’m not ruling anything out but I’m not in a rush.
“I’ve spoken to Rooky a couple of times so that is something we may look at again.
“But at the moment, I’m happy with the way it is.”
On the field, there are problems for Town ahead of their FA Trophy third qualifying round match against Isthmian Premier Leatherhead.
Left-back Aziz Lyoubi and midfielder Maliq Morris have left the club while their injury list grew in their 1-1 Isthmian South East draw at Lancing on Tuesday.
Collins remained tight-lipped on the identity of those who had picked up knocks in midweek but did confirm striker Harry Harding is sidelined with a knee injury, which was due to be assessed this week, after getting injured in training last Thursday.
He said: “We picked up a couple of knocks (on Tuesday) but I will not name who.
“Bizarrely, after we brought a few in and a few left, we are a bit light on numbers.
“So we need to bring a couple of bodies in again.
“But I think the exodus of signings did give some of the existing players a kick up the backside.”
On the match against Leatherhead this Saturday, he added: “They have had the week off to prepare whereas we had the game on Tuesday but we are really looking forward to testing ourselves against higher-league opposition.”
Midfielder D’Jean Spencer missed Faversham’s 1-0 home win over Whitehawk last weekend through suspension as defender Joe Denny scored the only goal of the match but Spencer responded well as he netted a late leveller against Lancing.
Reflecting on the draw at Culver Road, Collins admitted: “I cannot really work out if it’s a point gained or two dropped.
“In the first 20 minutes, we were on top and played fairly well. But they then got into the game.
“At half-time, there was not a lot in it and 0-0 was probably about right. But they scored with their only real chance early in the second half.
“But I felt after we conceded, for the last 25 minutes, including 11 minutes of stoppage-time, we were camped in their half. But it’s four points out of six for us this week and we have moved up to 12th.
“Overall, it has been a good week.”
Town have been drawn away to Hythe in the Kent Senior Cup first round and at home to Isthmian South Central Sutton Common Rovers in the Velocity Trophy first round.
