New signing Ryan Cooper is set to be included in Faversham Town’s opening pre-season friendly at Lydd on Saturday.
The defender is one of a trio of new faces settling in at Salters Lane, together with his former Hythe team-mate Tasar Hassan and former Maidstone man Ollie Brown.
Cooper spent two seasons at Leatherhead but missed the second-half of last season due to injury, with boss Ray Turner looking for him and Hassan to continue the good right-sided partnership they enjoyed at Reachfields.
Turner is set to take a squad of 18 to face the Kent Invicta League side.
He said: “We are starting games quite late but wanted to concentrate on training and conditioning the players first. We will have had eight sessions by the weekend.”
Both Stuart King, signed from Herne Bay and Chris Webber, who joined from Billericay at the end of last season, feature prominently in Turner’s plans.
Goalkeeper Simon Overland is still recovering from a broken leg, while defender Ashley Brown is unavailable until September.
Turner added: “Simon is continuing his rehab, hopefully we will see him back around the end of the year, while Ashley is working and coaching in the United States.”
Town face County League, Premier Division new-boys Faversham Strike Force in another friendly at the Abbey School on Tuesday night (7.30pm).
