Faversham’s Dan Madden has been celebrating after he claimed two titles at his first boxing bout.
Madden, 39, had previously competed in kickboxing but the Whitstable’s S2 Martial Arts Academy member claimed the Kent and Southern Area heavyweight boxing titles when he beat Lew Mannouch at The Appleyard, Sittingbourne, backed by a bumper crowd of over 140 supporters.
S2 Martial Arts Academy is run by world champion kickboxing brothers Tommy and Frankie Smith, who said: “Dan’s journey is nothing short of inspirational. He pours his heart and soul into his training and always pushes his limits.
“Dan’s victories are a testament to his perseverance and resilience. He has shown immense strength and discipline, and his achievements are well deserved.
“We couldn’t be prouder of him. His success is a shining example of how hard work and dedication can lead to incredible accomplishments.
“We would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone who came to support Dan. He brought a crowd of more than 140 people, which is incredible and just goes to show how loved he is.
“It means the world to him and also to us.”
Madden now intends to fight again and capture more titles.
