FAVERSHAM golfer Sian Evans has been selected for the England under-18 girls team for the annual match against the England under-16 boys.
The two-handicapper, who became Faversham Golf Club Ladies Champion after a 3-1 win over Corinne Wilkins at the Belmont last month - has been selected for the 10-a-side match will take place at Ogbourne Downs Golf Club in Wiltshire on Sunday.
Sian, 15 and from Rainham, represented England in the annual under-16 international against Spain earlier this season.
She will line-up alongside her teammates from that fixture, England under-15 champion Heidi Baek from Suffolk, Alex Peters from Notts and Yorkshire’s Helen Searle as well as six other youngsters from across the country.
She has also represented Kent and is in the English Ladies’ Golf Association’s select south east squad which provides her with coaching, physiotherapy, physiology, nutrition and psychology advice to help her get to the top of the women’s game.
The battle of the sexes takes place all day on Sunday with foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon.
