FAVERSHAM Town boss Paul Copley has paid the price for his side’s poor start to the season.
The 36-year-old former Welling United centre half led the Lilywhites to just four points from eight Kent League Premier Division games and on Saturday oversaw a 2-1 defeat at home to bottom of the table Slade Green,.
The Salters Lane outfit are second bottom of the table and face another six-pointer against Tunbridge Wells on Saturday when assistant manager Bob Mason and coach Paul Piggott will take charge of team affairs.
The decision to part company with Copley was taken at a committee meeting on Tuesday evening.
A club spokesman said: “The committee wish to place on record their thanks and appreciation for all of the hard work and effort that Paul Copley has shown since taking over as manager in April.”
Applications for the vacant position are being invited.
