Stuart King came off the bench to earn Faversham a point against 10-man Ramsgate in the Ryman League Kent derby at Salters Lane.
Left out of the starting line-up following the 2-0 home defeat by Guernsey at the weekend, King had only been on the field seven minutes when he pounced with a trademark finish to level the scores, after Ian Pulman had fired Rams in front six minutes into the second half.
King had a chance to win it for the Lilywhites late on, sending his header wide of the target, as the spoils were shared
The game turned on the 61st minute dismissal of Ramsgate's Aaron Quain, shown a red card after comments to referee Steve Brown.
Rams were aggrieved earlier when Luke Girt's fierce drive was ruled out for offside in an enteraining first 45 minutes.
Dean Grant and Liam King were a constant threat up front, in the first half, while Rams goalkeeper Luke Watkins was forced to save with his legs as the home side pressed.
He also had to move quickly to foil Grant at his near post, plucked another effort from the lively King, and saw Charley Robertson's 30-yard effort bounce wide of his right hand post.
Town keeper Will Godman saved from top scorer Joe Taylor at the other end, while Warren Schulz fired over the bar.
Rams introduced Nick Treadwell at half-time for injured Warren Schulz, before Pulman struck to put them in front six minutes after the restart.
Pulman left a defender in his wake, before drilling home a low right foot effort.
Quain's red card followed 12 minutes later, with Grant and Girt booked late in the game after a flare up.
