FAVERSHAM Town could still be playing in the Kent League next season, despite not applying to join it ahead of the annual meeting held last Thursday.
Although the club failed to submit their application the required 21 days before the meeting, league chairman Denise Richmond said the door would not be completely shut on them.
But she issued a firm warning that Faversham would have to provide “big assurances” to the management committee and clubs before being allowed back in.
Mrs Richmond said: “You would say ordinarily that after the annual meeting you would decide your constitution but, in a kind world, you wouldn’t want to be that definite.”
Faversham have still not paid their outstanding fines to the Kent County Football Association (KCFA) and remain under suspension.
