Finn Smart-Weeden claimed his best finish of the British Junior SuperSport season at Silverstone.
From 14th on the grid the Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Faversham pupil went round the outside of several rivals and his bravery paid off to secure 10th place - his first top-10 finish of the year.
Race two needed an early safety car before being red-flagged for two laps. When Smart-Weeden did get going, tyre problems prevented him pushing hard and he dropped to 15th.
However two crashes moved him up to 13th, and a post-race disqualification promoted him to 12th. The nine points won moved him up to joint-16th in the championship.
Smart-Weeden was pleased with his overall pace and said: "That was a good weekend and my first top-10 finish this year. My lap times were nearly a second faster than last year on this short, fast circuit.
"My race times would have put me first in both races last year and my lap time was only two tenths off last year's lap record.
"I’m looking forward to the next round at Oulton Park at the end of the month.”
