Southern Counties East League: Faversham Town go top after winning at Corinthian, VCD Athletic lose at Kennington

Faversham Town returned to the top of Southern Counties East Premier Division after twice coming from behind at Corinthian.

James Billings put Corinthian ahead at the break but Nathan Wood equalised early in the second half.

Lorenzo Duncan restored Corinthian’s advantage with 20 minutes left but Johan Caney-Bryan made it 2-2 two minutes later and Wood scored the winner on 83 minutes.

Fin Dent marked his return to the starting line-up for Kennington by scoring both goals in a 2-1 home win over former leaders VCD.

Dent put Ton ahead from the penalty spot before Francis Babalola levelled on the half-hour. Dent restored Kennington’s lead after 58 minutes before VCD finished with 10 men after a red card for Zak Bryon.

Third-placed Fisher won 4-2 at home to fourth-placed Larkfield & New Hythe.

Kesna Clarke netted twice for Fisher with an Armani-Jordan Martin penalty and Jake Lovell also on target. Bryan Zepo and Ross Ibbertson replied for Larkfield.

Glebe are up to sixth following an impressive 4-0 victory at home to Punjab United.

All the goals came in the final half-hour with Alex Arif, Kelvin Bakare, a Jamie Philpot penalty and substitute Tod Bamber doing the damage.

Bottom side Lydd Town fielded striker Gary Lockyer in their 4-1 home defeat to Snodland.

Stan Oldfield and Kane Philips put Snodland 2-0 ahead in 21 minutes before the former’s second made it three on the stroke of half-time.

Robbie Dolan pulled one back on the hour but Rob Denness headed in with 20 minutes left to ensure there would be no late comeback.

Lordswood also sit in the bottom two after losing 2-1 at home to Erith & Belvedere, Elliott Duncan netting for Lords before Tunde Aderonmu and Tommy Whitnell replied in the last 18 minutes.

Goals in the first 14 minutes from Steadman Callender and Charlie Clover saw Rusthall win 2-1 at home to Hollands & Blair, who replied late on through Jason Fargone.

Goals in either half from Liam Gillies and player-boss Jamie Coyle led Whitstable to a 2-0 home win over Stansfeld.

Division 1 leaders Canterbury were held to a goalless draw at Bridon Ropes.

Two promotion-chasing sides drew 2-2 at Salters Lane as Faversham Strike Force hosted Forest Hill.

Kane Taylor and Harry O’Donnell scored for Strike Force with Ryan Palmer bagging a brace in reply.
