Southern Counties East round-up: VCD cut Faversham’s lead at the top to two points while bottom side Lydd boost survival hopes with another win

Faversham’s lead at the top of the Southern Counties East Premier Division is down to two points.

The Lilywhites needed an 87th-minute equaliser from Johan Caney-Bryan to rescue a 2-2 draw at Erith & Belvedere.

Joe Thomas put Blair in front early on but two goals for in-form Roman Campbell and a Jack Hopkins strike put the hosts in charge.

Bottom side Lydd are only three points from safety after continuing their revival with a 1-0 win over high-flying Fisher.

Substitute Tyler Sterling scored the only goal two minutes from time as the Lydders made it seven points out of nine since ending a six-match losing streak last weekend.

Both goals came in the opening four minutes as Stansfeld drew 1-1 at home to Snodland.

Kane Phillips gave visitors Town the perfect start with a second-minute opener but Chris Alhassan soon levelled and that’s how it stayed.

Bearsted’s home clash with Glebe, Whitstable’s trip to Rusthall, Lordswood’s game at Sutton Athletic and the match between Tunbridge Wells and Kennington were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
