Faversham skipper Harry Harding is looking forward to a short commute for this weekend’s match at Sevenoaks.
The Lilywhites have eased lingering relegation fears in Isthmian South East recently, claiming seven points from their last three fixtures.
With only five matches to play, Faversham are 13th and 12 points clear of the bottom two, although just seven points ahead of third-bottom East Grinstead who occupy a potential relegation play-off place.
Harding, who scored in Town’s 3-1 home win over Three Bridges last weekend and netted again in their 1-1 draw at Whitehawk on Tuesday, is looking forward to a much shorter journey on Saturday to Mill Lane.
“That’s literally two minutes from my house,” he revealed. “That’s nice after Whitehawk away.
“In terms of the set up there with Mark Dacey (assistant manager) and Harry Hudson (Sevenoaks' new boss), they do it the right way. You can see that by the impact they have had and the results they have been getting.
“But we have our style as well, we will try and impact the game our way.
“I’m really looking forward to it.”
Town’s midweek match at Whitehawk turned into a long night, with kick-off delayed due to traffic issues before a floodlight failure caused further problems. The encounter eventually finished shortly after 10.05pm.
But there was still a Faversham contingent within the 185-strong crowd.
Harding admitted: “I think there’s a really good core of fans and I said that to them on Saturday.
“It really does help - they call themselves the Slopers. There was a buzz on Saturday.
“Then a group went to Whitehawk as well.
"It (their support) is very much appreciated and it really does make a difference.”
Harding, a striker by trade, sustained a serious knee injury in October and has since returned in a deeper role.
“It’s been a funny year. We have had some personnel changes and some really bad injuries - not just me, a few lads have had injuries,” conceded Harding, who has eight goals this season, two less than 10-goal leading scorer Emmanuel Oluwasemo.
“When I was at Bromley, I used to play as a number eight. It’s only because of the amount of goals that I scored that I moved further and further up the field.
“My target is to get to double figures for the season.”
If he plays at Sevenoaks, Matt Bourne will then be in line to make his 450th club appearance at Salters Lane against Hastings next weekend.
Harding praised the popular defender, saying: “He is an absolute legend. He is brilliant in the changing room.
“We love Bourney, he is quality.”
Midfielder Siao Blackwood has joined Town and been an unused substitute in their last two games.
