Manager Sammy Moore is excited by Faversham’s plans to build a state-of-the-art artificial pitch.
The Lilywhites hope to hear back from Swale Borough Council by April 6 on the proposal to build a 3G surface at Salters Lane, estimated to cost £750,000.
“It’s unbelievable news for everyone involved at Faversham,” Moore said.
“They have waited a long time for this. The plans behind-the-scenes, which I’m fully involved in, are impressive.
“Once we get that pitch down, we can really build a hub for the community.
“We will increase our youth section. We will be doing lots of other community stuff at the club.
"To go forward, it’s the type of surface you need.”
Faversham are at the foot of Isthmian South East but there have been encouraging signs.
They roared back from 3-0 down at leaders Ramsgate last Wednesday to earn a point and two-goal Gillingham loanee Ronald Sithole guided them to a 2-0 victory against high-fliers Cray Valley on Saturday.
Moore reflected: “It was a really good win.
“I’m buzzing for the players, the management, the chairman [Gary Smart], the board and the supporters. You could see what it meant to them at the end.
"We dominated from start to finish.”
Sithole, who also netted at Ramsgate, has made a strong start to his initial one-month loan.
Moore’s management team spoke to Gillingham head of recruitment Andy Hessenthaler about signing Sithole while Gills Academy manager Bryan Bull watched their game against Cray Valley.
“We knew what Ronald would bring,” said Moore. “He has bought into our predicament brilliantly.
“We spoke to Hessy at Gills and said ‘Just trust us with this’. Bryan Bull was there on Saturday and Ronald worked his socks off.
“More importantly, he’s a good lad.
"I had Ronald in my Academy at eight or nine so I’ve always known he’s a good lad and has a great family.
“He has just offered us something different. He can get 15 or 20 goals in a season.
"He has been great for us.
“Fingers crossed, he can score more important goals.”
Sithole’s strike partner, former Republic of Ireland youth international Shola Ayoola, also impressed on his debut.
Moore said: “I watched him at Folkestone.
"Most of my teams have always had a big man. I didn’t have that when I first came.
“When we signed him, we knew he had an injury. But he got 90 minutes on Saturday.
“First half, maybe, he was a bit rusty and took a bit of time to get up to speed. But second half, he was outstanding.”
But hitman Zak Ansah has been sidelined and Moore explained: “Zak pulled a calf in the Whitehawk game.
“He has been struggling so it’s good we have options.”
Town did briefly move off the foot of the table, only to drop back down a place on Tuesday as Corinthian drew 0-0 at Ashford.
Moore said: “It’s a tough ask - maybe the damage was done before we got there.
“But it’s still not over and we will not give up until it’s mathematically impossible.
“We probably need seven wins out of 10, maybe eight. That’s a tough ask.”
Under-23 player Harry Codd and winger Kieron Campbell were also on target at Ramsgate.
The Lilywhites visit Sevenoaks this Saturday.
They are also looking to recruit a head of youth.
