John Embery says Faversham’s management team are happy with the squad they have now assembled.
Town won 3-2 at FC Romania on Sunday to progress in the FA Trophy and visit Chichester in Isthmian South East this Saturday.
The Lilywhites have recorded just one league victory so far but, having won 1-0 at Chichester only 18 days earlier in the FA Trophy, they’ll be looking for another victory there.
Former AFC Wimbledon defender James O’Halloran (knee) is Faversham’s only injury concern but the rest of their squad is taking shape.
“They’re a good side. They’re a very technical side so it’ll be a good game and we are looking forward to it,” said joint-manager Embery of Chichester.
“We have made a couple of changes recently, brought a few more players in and we are pretty happy with our squad now - as long as we can keep everybody fit. We are confident we can go anywhere and win games.
“We have lost James O’Halloran for a period of time, we don’t know how long for. We’re hoping it’s not too bad but you never know.”
Embery was impressed with Town’s display in their latest FA Trophy triumph against Southern Central outfit FC Romania.
He said: “We totally dominated, we were brilliant. We have finally got the kind of squad we were looking for.
“The players are fit and sharp, and I thought we were unplayable at times. It was very good.”
Brad Schafer netted twice while Toby Bancroft was also on target. Schafer’s brace may not have been the best of his career - one coming from the penalty spot and the other from a rebound after he failed to convert another spot-kick - but Embery wasn’t bothered.
“Goals are goals,” Faversham’s joint-boss said.
“Brad won’t worry, his attitude will be ‘I’ve scored two goals’.
“He’ll be thinking about his goal bonus, that’s what he’ll be thinking about!”
Faversham have been drawn away to Isthmian North outfit Grays in the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round.
Meanwhile, a youthful Faversham side lost 5-0 in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night at home to Margate.
Under-23s boss Mark Taylor took charge of the first-round tie and only goalkeeper Simon Overland, defender Danny Rumbol and midfielder Tom Carlton from Town’s senior ranks started.
Embery explained: “We let the under-23s manager take it and played the under-23s, it gave us an opportunity to look at them. They’ve got to be able to step up to the level and they would have learnt from that game.
“We had a game on Sunday and have a game on Saturday so we couldn’t afford to risk too many. It was a good opportunity for us to have a look at them and make a decision on some of the players.
“They all did well, there were players missing as well, so it was always going to be hard for Mark and, to be fair, they worked hard, they kept going.
“You are playing against an Isthmian Premier side and some of these boys haven’t ever played first-team football.
“When you look at it from that point of view, what can you expect? You expect to get beaten but it’s about the manner in how you get beaten.
"Do you keep working hard? Do you show resilience, even when you are behind? They showed all of that.
“From our point of view, we learnt things and we saw players out there that might be able to progress. So for us, it was a good experience."
