Ray Turner says Faversham can carry some momentum into next season, so long as they extend their superb home form in their season finale on Saturday.
Town welcome Cray Wanderers to the Shepherd Neame Stadium (3pm) seeking to finish the season unbeaten in their last 14 home games dating back to November.
Faversham could yet finish anywhere from seventh to 10th in Ryman League Division 1 South, although Turner says that is less important than the result.
Town have 46 points from 22 home games, a record only bettered by title-chasing Tooting and Dorking.
By contrast their 23 away games only brought 27 points and Turner said: “Our away form has not been good and you can probably say that’s what has let us down this year. Our home form has been excellent and we want to finish off well at home.
“You can take some of the momentum into the following season, just as I know that it can take time to get over play-off disappointment.”
The Lilywhites have reached, and lost in, the play-offs in three of the last five seasons, and Turner said: “It is slightly strange feeling not to be playing key games at this stage of the season but that does allow you time to step back and look at things.
“I have a good idea where we have lost momentum this year and player movement (losing the likes of Dean Grant and Liam King to Hythe) was a big factor in that.
“We will finish where we deserve to be but we still have the chance of getting to 76 points, so we are not too far away.”
Josh Stanford and Sam Bewick are ruled out while Luke Griffiths could start.
