Faversham Town boss Ray Turner says there is no pressure on his side for the rest of the season describing it as a learning process for his squad.
Faversham have not won in their last six games and over Christmas lost three out of four.
However, Turner said he will still continue to develop players and hopes the youngsters will learn from this.
His side travel to leaders Lewes in their next Bostik South match on Saturday.
Turner said: “We have played some good sides in recent weeks and for a lot of players it is their first season in senior football. It will be a good experience for the players to go to a place like Lewes.
“There is no pressure on us and we will continue to develop the players and work on new things.”
Last Saturday, Faversham lost 4-2 at Cray Wanderers and then drew 1-1 at home to Ashford United on Monday.
It was always going to be a tall order for Turner’s side as Cray are unbeaten in 18 and Ashford were coming off back-to-back wins.
Turner said: “Cray Wanderers are a lot further down the line than we are. They are better than us. We did create some chances but the result was never in doubt. It was a learning process for us. They have a long unbeaten run and are one of the favourites to win the league.
“Ashford are a much different proposition than the league suggests. It was a good game and credit to both sides for the way it was played and credit also to the groundsman for keeping the game on.
“The result could have gone either way.”
Despite the run of bad results Turner believes there are positives he can take from the way his side have played and the players who are back in contention.
He added: “The positive for me was the transformation of the team. It was nice to welcome back George Monger, Renford Tenyue and Liam King. We also expect to get Carl Rook and Mark Lovell back soon.”
The recent results leave Faversham 17th in the table on 30 points.
