An adorable puppy had to be rescued from a clifftop after being missing for more than two days.
Barney the Jack Russell had been missing since Saturday morning when a walker on a beach in Folkestone heard him crying.
The man had been walking along Mungo's beach in the Warren at around 1pm yesterday when he heard the young pup crying further up the cliff above the path.
He quickly called the coastguard, who deployed a team from Langdon Bay – who had also been helping look for Barney whilst on patrol the day before.
The team deployed two officers at the bottom of the cliff and two at the top, who were able to spot the lost dog.
A rope rescue technicican was sent to abseil down the cliff to rescue Barney, who was popped safely into an animal rescue bag and taken down the cliff.
He was then driven back to Abbots Cliff to be reunited with his very worried owner, seemingly none the worse for his ordeal.
A Coastguard spokesman said: "If your beloved pet goes over a cliff please do what Barney's dad did and call us, don't try and rescue them yourself".
