A woman has been airlifted to hospital after an accident on the M20.

Emergency crews were called to scene between junctions 13 and 12 of the London-bound carriageway at 2.39pm.

Police said the car collided with the central reservation and came to a halt in a live lane.

The road was temporarily closed while the ambulance service, the air ambulance and the fire service attended the scene.

The woman has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road reopened shortly after 4pm.
