Armed police called to Folkestone town centre

Two men have been arrested after an armed police incident in Folkestone town centre.

Firearms officers were deployed to Harbour Street at about 5pm following reports a man had been seen with a possible gun in his pocket.

Pictures later showed two men being led away in handcuffs in Bouverie Place, near the junction with Sandgate Road.

Police confirmed two men had been arrested and an imitation firearm seized.

A spokesman said enquiries are ongoing.
