Folkestone taxi driver who took 'distressed woman' to from Folkestone Police Station to Royal Victoria Hospital sought

Shepway police officers are looking for a Folkestone taxi driver who "picked up a distressed woman".

The woman, who was reportedly with two children, was picked up by a cab on Monday night.

The driver took them to Folkestone Police Station and then to the Royal Victoria Hospital in the town.

Officers are now "urgently trying to locate" the driver and have appealed to members of the public via social media to share if they are friends with drivers in Shepway.

A statement said: "If this was you please contact 101 and quote reference ZY/2758/16."

Police have not revealed any more details about why the driver is trying to be traced.
