He's known as The Pub Landlord and is one of Britain's most popular comedians.

Al Murray, Britain’s most irrepressible innkeeper will be serving up his premier brew of ale-inspired acumen and bar-room buffoonery in Folkestone later this year, the first of a tour date tour in Kent.

Renowned for his alter-ego as a publican vowing to fix 'broken Britain', Murray started touring 20 years ago.

The Pub Landlord will be toasting two Kent dates this autumn

He is bringing his latest show called 'One Man, One Guvnor' to the Quarterhouse in Mill Bay off Tontine Street in the Creative Quarter on Wednesday, September 3.

He will then visit Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre on Sunday, October 12.

A Masters history graduate from Oxford University, Murray has appeared on television shows such as the BBC satirical current affairs show Have I Got News For You and been listed in the top 20 stand-up comedians in the country by Channel 4.

His obsession with Queen and his xenophobic ways prompted critics from the Daily Telegraph to say “after 15 years of refining his act, it’s now in peak satirical condition,” while The Times said “Murray’s interaction with the crowd remains one of the wonders of the comedy world'.

Quarterhouse spokesman Ioannis Ioannou said: "This is not the first time Al Murray will appear at Quarterhouse. He appeared here two years ago so the fact that he is coming back means that he had a good time!

"We have had Alan Carr recently so hopefully there will be more big names to follow soon."

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, April 11 from the Quarterhouse website.
