Broken glass in a "dangerous position" to members of the public was cordoned off by police in a town centre.

Workers replacing a sheet of shattered glass at the former Mark One shop in Folkestone's Sandgate Road made the call at 4.22pm on Wednesday.

It is not known the circumstances as to how the glass initially smashed and the police have confirmed there is "no crime" linked to the incident.

A police spokesman said: "They reported that the broken glass was in a dangerous position so officers attended to place a cordon around the area to ensure public safety while the glass was replaced."
