Homeowners need to be vigilant following a spate of burglaries in Kent, police have warned.

Four homes in the Folkestone district were targeted by thieves during a two day spree last week.

Police can not confirm if the incidents are all connected, but say they are keeping an 'open mind'.

Cash was taken from a home in Pilgrim Spring, Folkestone last Thursday between 8am and 1.15pm.

The next day a diamond ring, some gold watches and an emerald ring were reported stolen from a home in Octavian Drive in Lympne between 12.30pm and 3.50pm.

Then between 7pm and 7.45pm on the same day, cash and jewellery were taken from a house in Dymchyurch Road, Hythe.

There was also an attempted burglary at around 1.10pm on the Thursday in Whitby Road, Folkestone.

The occupants were at home when they saw three men causing damage to a window.

After one of the victims made a noise, the three men ran away.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Officers investigating the reports are keeping an open mind as to whether they may be linked."

An appeal for witnesses has now been launched.
