A knife wielding crook made off on a bicycle after attempting to swipe chocolates from a supermarket.

The attempted armed robbery at Tesco Express in Foord Road, Folkestone yesterday at 9.12am, prompted a police appeal for witnesses.

Police are reviewing CCTV of the incident and inquires are ongoing, a spokesman said.

Tesco has been approached for comment.
